Tonight I watched “Terminator: The Sarah Conner Chronicles” on FOX. I was unsure about it before I watched it. I mean, it looked fun, but could they pull it off? What else can be told about the Terminator tale?
Well, they definitely did pull it off! The hour show was action-packed with lots of twists and turns. One of the actresses, Summer Glau, used to star on Joss Whedon’s short-lived “Firefly.” She’s spectacular on this, too. You might also remember her as Tess in The 4400.
The oft-used story of human-created robots turning on their creators is relived in this series. And even though we’ve all heard the story before, enough new ideas are thrown in to keep viewers interested. The beginning was a little hoaky with a “Surprise! It was just a dream!” opening. But the show really picked up where the dream left off.
As a Battlestar Galactica fan, I definitely recommend “The Sarah Conner Chronicles” if you need a “robot” fix before BSG starts again. Even some of the music they used when the Terminator was coming onto the scene reminded me a bit of BSG’s tension-filled moments.
SPOILER AHEAD. If you haven’t seen the episode yet, don’t read on!
I loved the part where Sarah left the man who had just proposed to her, and he sees her on TV when she shows up in the future in 2007. The guy was left with a lot of unanswered questions. I hope the writers play this part up and provide us with some fun relational drama to mix with the scifi action. If you enjoyed this post, please subscribe to the blog below. 🙂
