Don’t stay in the shadows! This was one of the themes of the Re:Write Conference. Step out and face your dreams, no matter how tough they may seem to achieve.
James L. Rubart, a best-selling author who’s written six books, including The Spirit Bridge, drove this point home in his talk.
“There’s a glory inside you that you cannot see,” he said. This glory may be hidden because of something you’ve dealt with, problems you’ve faced, or crushing disappointments. Whatever the cause, you must be willing to step out again in order to reveal that glory. If you step into glory, you WILL be opposed. Be ready. @jameslrubart #rewriteconf Click To Tweet
But here’s a truth and a warning: If you step into your glory, it WILL be opposed.
No ifs, ands, or buts. If you stop being crushed by life and step into the glory that God has for you, Rubart stressed, you WILL face opposition.
So, he said, what do you do when the opposition comes?
What is God’s destiny for you? Do you have a talent that you’re hoarding and hiding? Are you operating in the spirit of power that God gave you, or are you still living in a spirit of fear?
(Honesty time: I sometime still live in that spirit of fear! We’re going through some tough times right now, and I have a hard time not focusing on thinking of the problems rather than solutions. But that’s the wrong attitude, isn’t it?)
In his talk, Rubart reminded all of us that Jesus came to heal the broken-hearted and set the captives free. If you’re scared to step into glory, a good activity is to help OTHERS step into theirs.
Rubart suggested the following activity. Find someone you know and tell them about the glory that you see in them.Today, tell someone about the glory you see in them! @jameslrubart #rewriteconf Click To Tweet
That’s it. Pretty easy right? Do you think you can do that this week?
